Book 6: Cake Catastrophe

At Tali’s school, birthdays are no longer planned by the kids but predicted by Preeda, a robot relying on behavioural data. Scanning Tali’s old snack logs and game patterns, Preeda comes up with what it thinks is the "statistically perfect” party. But when the celebration fills up with unicorns, flamingos and a cupcake bouncy castle, Tali has to put a stop to the whole tech-fueled disaster. A funny and thoughtful story, showing that the best plans don’t come from data but from listening.
